List of our goals:

  • Increase public awareness of the catastrophic losses that bat populations have suffered due to the introduction and spread of White-nose Syndrome.

  • Dispel the widespread fear of bats that is prevalent in our society. 

  • Make the benefits that bats provide to our society more visible (pest control, seed dispersal, pandemic prevention, the potential for bats’ superimmunity to cure cancer)

  • Help raise funding for bat research and conservation work.

  • Improve habitat for bats in urban and suburban areas by connecting audiences with BCI’s bat-friendly garden program.

  • Generate interest in advocacy efforts to pass the RAWA Act, and maintain funding for the North American Bat Monitoring Program.
